Two things are growing in nigeria. The first is religion, while the second is HIV/AIDS.At the ennd of 2001,a federal survey demonstrated that 5.8 percent of the population of nigeria tested positive for the HIV virus.in some states, the infection rate is as high as 13.5percent.Nigeria now has the third largest number of people living with HIV/AIDS in the world.kweisi mfume a former american congressman of african origin says that the aids crisis is 'the greatest holocaust in the last one hundred years.'
The question is: are these two phenomena related in any way? does one influence the other? does one have any bearing on the other? does one have the ability to restrict the advance of the other? i think the answer to those questions is an unqualified !yes!.
Aids is affecting the religious community in many ways.First, many of the people suffering from aids are religious people, members of churches and mosques.anything affecting the people of a religion affects the religion itself. by:-->Samuel725
