Has the ATM caused more Good than Bad?
Has the ATM caused more Good than Bad?

Since the versatilization of ATM machines, it became easier for us to withdraw money without stress, anytime even beyond working hours and we can even recharge our phones without having to load a recharge pin, transfer money to other accounts, many more benefits which I can't exhaust.
The the matter which has persisted and has now become my major cause of concern is the issue of changing to smaller denominations. I personally made a research which was limited to Benue State where am from, and in every 100ATM MACHINES YOU SEE, 98 DISPENSES IN MULTIPLES OF N1000 ONLY!
This has now persisted to a point such that many people who want to transact have problem coz in the process, the most notes in circulation is the BIG NOTES! Several cases where 'ocada men' are involved in chaos with their customers over this same issue. Now, the question is: Is that same in your area? How can this problem be tackled? Should not the denominations be reduced? I rest my case.

I am not sure, but I assume it may be to take full advantage of the capacity of the ATM to avoid reloading the machine multiple times in one day. For example, if an ATM machine can only contain 100 notes, using N1000 notes will be N100,000 while using N500 notes will be only N50,000.
Or perhaps it could just be a scheme to make people withdraw more money.

Its just still the same problem now(except few places where they mix it N500 notes); but if the bank would listen to complaints of customers, they would have done something about this.
But I discover that every sector in Nigeria economy runs autocracy kind of government: people's opinions are not reckoned with.
People have been complaining, but nothing is done to ameliorate the situation.
