How To Check Your Phone Number on MTN

If you just got a new MTN SIM and for some reason you lost the pack, you can easily check your MTN phone number by using one of the methods described below.

Check Your MTN Number via USSD Commands
To do this, dial *123#. A menu would show up and prompt you to choose a menu option by replying with a number. This is the menu.

2. Tariff Plan Migration
3. Data Services
4. BetterMe Bundle
5. MTN Play
6. Caller Tunez
7. Extra Time
8. More...

Now the option we want is the first one (Account Information), so press 1 and press the ok button. Another menu would be displayed.

1. My Number
2. My Tariff Plan
3. My Account Balance
4. My Data Balance
5. My Bonus Account
6. End Of Call Message
0. Back
00. Main Menu

Obviously, the one you want is the first one as well (My Number), so press 1, then press ok. This would display your MTN phone number on the screen. Copy it down somewhere and never lose it again.

For a shortcut, you can quickly check your number on MTN by dialing *663#

Check Your Number on MTN By Sending a Free SMS
Another way to know your MTN number is to send a free text message to another MTN line. A perfect service for this is the MTN Call Me Back. If you have another MTN phone nearby, simply dial *133*NUMBER#

Your MTN phone number would be displayed in the text message on the recipient's phone.
