Everyone makes resolution every year; but how many of these resolutions outrightly works out?
When you make a plan to achieve a goal, you must work towards the plan to succeed.
Planning without action is nothingness: "faith without work is meaningless".
What are your resolutions for this year(2016) and how do you think you can achieve them?

i've been trying to achieve a project which i just discover now that i havent started work towards it.

Then, make a plan on it: l mean a plan on how to achieve the goal.
