We Are Changing Our Name

Good morning everyone,

In an effort to make our community name sound more appealing to all Nigerians both local and abroad, we have decided to change our name from EasyNaija to Jalingo. We assume this name sounds better and will be easier to remember since it is a name most people are already familiar with.

Though, we won't be making the change until we reach an agreement with our members via the voting system above. If you have comments, suggestions, or if you pick option 4, feel free to reply to this post so we can all have a discussion together before we make the change. Remember to vote before submitting a reply.

Nobody is trying to attract foreigners. We are making the site for Nigerians living in Nigeria, and Nigerians living abroad.

Well to my oppinion i think it is Okay, the name Jalingo sounds unsimillar to anyother site in the World, i think its a good start of development for this site. Concerning Easynaija it sounds more local and unatractive which i had already condemend long time ago before the approach of changing a new name... Jalingo may be a new name but definetly will bring a new thing for this site, its just time we need before we can get use to it.

Well what can i say if the Admin has already made up his mind?
I see no good reason to change it. Only if you are converting a discussions forum to a chatting/fun website; like Eskimi.
Apart from that, JALINGO means no Maturity at all. Besides it does not even relate to what is done here.
Above all, Its not even an english word to give a clear or presentable meaning.
Therefore i see no good reason to transfer this web domain.

Naijaforum.com is taken (not available). The new name does not have to be similar to our current name. It has to be easy to remember, short and unique. Thank you for the suggestion.

Feel free to suggest a name Phil, that was why this topic was opened. If we find a better name, I will definitely use it. But keep in mind that anything containing 'Naija' or 'Naira' will not be considered.

I do not know why you are insisting on a name that is already owned by someone else. On Godaddy, it says the name is not available, you probably missed the 'not' there.

I have checked all the other hosts you mentioned and it's unavailable on all of them. Naijaforum.com currently points to a facebook page.

Yeah 'NaijaPlus'. Its settled admin. We are all going with the Jalingo choice.
About the available / is not available part, Maybe its just my operator.
