How to easily put adverts on the genesis framework theme for wordpress blogs.

The Genesis theme or as commonly known - The Genesis framework is undoubtedly one of the most complex themes for wordpress. This theme cannot be found on the official wordpress repository, but can be purchased from the developer's website. It comes in a large zip folder which clearly shows that it contains a lot more tools and functions than any other regular theme.. hence the tag "Framework".

Okay, enough of the intro, let us go into the guide proper.

Add Google Adsense Banner and Leaderboard Adverts To Genesis Framework
This guide will show you how to place any add or banner below the menu on the Genesis framework.

Step 1: Download "Simple Genesis hooks". (You can do a search for it on the developers website or in the wordpress repo.)

Step 2: Install the plugin, then head to the wordpress admin area.

Step 3: Navigate to Genesis -> Simple Hooks, then scroll down to the section marked "Content".

Step 4: Find the box labelled as genesis_before_content_sidebar_wrap Hook

Step 5: Copy and paste this code into the input box.
Code: [Select]
<div align="center" style="width:100%; padding:5px; background: #ffffff;">

Step 6: Now, replace "YOUR ADSENSE BANNER CODE" with whatever you wish to display below your theme menu. Then replace "#ffffff" with whatever color you wish to use as background color (#ffffff means white). It could be affiliate links or leaderboard ads or adsense banner ads.

This theme can be used on Genesis child themes as well as Thesis themes.
