So, Efritin, the classified ads company is shutting down operations in Nigeria.

Though the website is currently still up, the company already dismissed all of its staff and have auctioned all their properties and assets among the employees.

While the company takes its time to inform and settle with the merchants signed up on the website who still have outstanding balances and or unused vouchers, the employees and entire staff are gradually vacating the office at Ikeja.

The reason for the company's demise is that the former MD of Efritin.com, Zakaria Hersi (a Somalian) has been accused of stealing thousands of dollars (investment money) and creating fake invoice trails. This would lead to multiple court cases which the company would struggle to raise money for.

Hence, the CEO of Efritin's parent company, Saltside technologies decided to shut down the Nigerian end of their classifieds network.

Update
The company won't shut down completely, but they have fired all staff in Nigeria and closed down the offices.
Saltside Technologies has said that Efritin.com will now be run remotely from outside the country.
