Fix iPhone Error 3014 - iTunes Error 3014 During iPhone Restore

The iTunes error 3014 indicates that iTunes cannot fetch the SHSH blobs from apple server, sauriks server or localhost. Follow this simple step by step fix for this 3014 error:

PART I: The SHSH Blobs are Saved on Cydia or Saurik's Server.
If you do not have the SHSH blobs saved, please scroll down to PART II

Step 1: We need to open the hosts file first.
How to open hosts file on Windows
Click start, right click on Notepad, select Run as Administrator. When it opens, click File, then Open. Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc Then select the hosts file.
How to open hosts file on Mac OS
Click Go, then Go to folder, then type /etc Open the hosts file using TextEdit

Step 2: IF you already saved the SHSH blobs on Cydia or Sauriks server, then you need to add this code to the hosts file:
74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com
(I would advise to type it out rather than copying and pasting)
Save the file.

Step 3: Using a web browser, visit gs.apple.com, It should redirect to the Cydia website, if it doesn't then you didnt edit the hosts file correctly.

Step 4: Launch iTunes and begin your restore (Shift + Restore), it should work and you will not get a 3014 error.

PART II: The SHSH Blobs are NOT Saved on Cydia or Saurik's Server.
If you have the SHSH blobs saved, please scroll up to PART I.

Step 2: If you do NOT have the SHSH blobs saved on Cydia or Sauriks server, then you need to remove this code from the hosts file:
74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com

127.0.0.1 gs.apple.com

Save the file.

Step 3: Using a web browser, visit gs.apple.com, It should redirect to Apple website, if it doesn't then you didnt edit the hosts file correctly.

Step 4: Launch iTunes and begin your restore (Shift + Restore on Windows, ATL + Restore on Mac), this time, you will not get a 3014 error while restoring your firmware on iTunes.

Please leave a reply and let us know if it worked for you.

Tnx. It worked for me.

I used Part II

Only i add "#" and "space" in front of each address line(without adding them, it didn't work!).

Thanks again.

Hi Amir,
I am glad it worked out for you. Putting a # in front of the addresses also works because it will prevent anything from reading that part of the file. :)
